Editor's Viewpoint: Holidays at home

In the summer we all turn into sun-seekers, but the traditional southern European hotspots are becoming very expensive in these times of austerity.

That could spell good news for the local tourism industry with more and more people forced to holiday at home due to the rising cost of package holidays abroad and the increasing prices of food and other essentials while away.

Northern Ireland has a lot to offer the stay at home holidaymaker, but, unfortunately, it cannot guarantee sunshine. If it could many of us would never bother with the costas. But we are bound to get a good summer this year - aren't we?
