Editor's Viewpoint: Imelda can take great heart from Bake Off appearance
Tyrone woman Imelda McCarron didn't rise to the challenge on the Great British Bake Off according to the judges and she was ushered off the reality TV show in the first episode.
She may have got only slightly more than her 15 minutes of fame but it was, she said, one of the best experiences of her life.
Imelda admits she suffers from self confidence, especially when meeting new people, but having baked in front of a huge UK audience she can be proud of having been selected to take part in the competition. It is a pity that she was not allowed to display her bread making skills which may have forced the overly-harsh judges to eat their words.
