Editor's Viewpoint: Ken-do approach

Kenneth Branagh is best known as both an actor in, and director of, Shakespearean dramas. So there is some surprise that his latest film venture should involve a comic book superhero, Thor.

But even this veteran of a profession where back biting is way of life, must have been surprised at some of the harsh comments directed at the film and at his own abilities.

While admitting, like every actor, there are a few turkeys in his CV, the overall standard of his work on stage, television and screen is held in such high regard that he can ignore the comments of po-faced critics who can only dream of having his talents.
