Editor's Viewpoint: Lorainne's devotion shows she was born to be teacher
Everybody knows that good school teachers are worth their weight in gold, and this certainly applies to Lorainne Pendleton.
She has been teaching at Castlereagh Nursery School since it opened in September 1978 - some 40 years ago.
During that time she has influenced and helped to mould countless young lives, and there are very many people today who owe her a debt of gratitude that cannot be repaid.
Having just turned 60 years, Lorainne could be forgiven for looking forward to her retirement, but she won't hear of it! Some teachers are clearly born and not made, and Lorainne is obviously one of them.
