Editor's Viewpoint: Olympics snub

Northern Ireland is a place apart, at least according to British Olympic officials, who have refused to change the name of the Olympic squad to Team UK from Team GB. Culture Minister Nelson McCausland lobbied for the name change, arguing that the present title doesn't recognise the contribution of athletes from the province.

Given that we have lost out on most of the building contracts, any training camps or other dividends from the 2012 Games, another snub is hardly surprising. Let's hope that our athletes give their answer during competition.
