Editor's Viewpoint: On the crest of a wave

Kate Richardson from Portadown is literally on the crest of a wave of success by crossing the Atlantic in a rowing boat called Guardian, and in record time.

She was a member of the five all-women "Row For Freedom" crew who were competing in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, and also raising awareness of the scourge of human trafficking, and raising money for associated charities. Most people would find an Atlantic crossing on a liner challenging enough, but Kate and her colleagues deserve the greatest praise for their courageous crossing of a lifetime. They can now enjoy the luxuries of Barbados in full.
