Editor's Viewpoint: Open for business
Staging the Irish Open golf championship at Royal Portrush this summer is a huge boost for the province and due in large measure to the Major successes of Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy.
This is another major tourist attraction to add to the plethora of Titanic-related events which already hold out so much promise of increasing visitor numbers. It is now imperative the tourism industry - from the five-star hotels to the most humble B-amp;B - up its game to cater for those who come here. And after this latest sporting triumph, the aim must be to bring The Open back here for the first time since 1951.
