It seems somehow apt that Groundhog Day star, Bill Murray, should be among the celebrities at the Irish Open at Portrush.

For it seems that every morning brings news of another international standard event happening in the province attended by stars we used to see only on screen. From golf tournaments to MTV awards, from round-the-world yacht races to the Land of Giants spectacular, from movie making to cruise liner destination, Northern Ireland is now an exciting place to live in. And this week's Irish Open is another sign that we can stage big events with international stars, sending out a positive image to a global audience.
