Editor's Viewpoint: QUB's appointment of Hillary is a master stroke
Queen's University has pulled off a master stroke by appointing former US First Lady Hillary Clinton as its new chancellor. She is one of the most recognisable figures on the planet, and as an ambassador for the Belfast institution will give it an enhanced global reputation. It is yet another reminder this place punches well above its weight on occasion.
Her appointment may not have been universally applauded - anyone involved in global politics for the length of time she has is bound to be unpopular in some quarters - but it shows her commitment to the province was no flash in the pan and that she has our best interests at heart.
