Editor's Viewpoint: Ready for kick-off
Michael O'Neill could have wished for easier opposition in his first match in charge of the Northern Ireland international soccer team. We have only beaten Norway once in seven meetings, but, as ever with a new manager, there is a new wave of optimism following O'Neill's appointment.
He has made all the right noises about the selection process, about galvanising the supporters and in encouraging experienced internationals to return to the fold. He appears to be a man capable of tapping into the Northern Ireland sporting psyche - the greater the odds the better the performance. We should all get behind him in his attempts to improve the national team's standing.
