Editor's Viewpoint: Remembering 9/11

The remembrance ceremonies for nearly 3,000 victims of 9/11 and their families were carried out with suitable dignity and sensitivity yesterday across Northern Ireland and all around the world.

The events of 9/11 still cast a shadow, as wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as many terrorist outrages elsewhere, have taken an immense toll on human life.

The focus will now move to other aspects of life in the search for peace and security for all, but the victims of 9/11 and their families will not be forgotten.
