Editor's Viewpoint: Singer Amanda deserves her big day in Washington
Northern Ireland soul singer Amanda St John will be celebrating her 40th birthday this week, and what better way to do so than by performing to a US audience including President Donald Trump and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
This will take place at a St Patrick's Day lunch on Capitol Hill on Thursday, the day after her birthday. Full marks to Norman Houston of the Northern Ireland Bureau in Washington for organising the entertainment.
This comes after a difficult few years for Amanda, including a serious road accident and the death of her father. This week will be a welcome highlight, and we wish her well.
