Editor's Viewpoint: Stolen pup's return shows good side of social media
A stolen cocker spaniel puppy has been returned to her loving owners - thanks to a Facebook post.
The four-month-old Blue Roan puppy called Holly had been living in her home at Aghalee for only two months when she was snatched from the back garden.
Her owner Claire Sedgeman put a post on Facebook explaining how Holly had been stolen, and she was overwhelmed by the wide response.
Holly was later found wandering in Lurgan, and she was duly returned to her owner through the Facebook page Pets Lost and Found.
As we have seen during the recent election and elsewhere, social media has many disturbing connotations, including the bane that is "fake news", but it is right that we should salute Holly's safe return as a rare example of good news through social media. It is hard to beat a happy ending.
