Editor's Viewpoint: The final insult

The decisive defeat of Andy Murray in the Australian Open is a disappointment not only for this talented young tennis player but also for his many supporters all over the United Kingdom.

Not for the first time, Murray has failed to clear the final hurdle and he must be wondering himself if ever he will be able to make the decisive breakthrough.

His time may indeed come, but he must also face the harsh fact he may not have the temperament and the outstanding ability of a true champion. His performance in yesterday's Australian final was simply not good enough.
