Editor's Viewpoint: The miracle toddler

The NHS is often maligned but our story today of how doctors saved the life of little Hannah Ferguson who was stillborn after losing all her blood during birth is a reminder of the miracles which modern medicine can often perform.

She was literally brought back from the dead and today is a happy normal toddler.

While there may be shortcomings in the way the health service operates at times, we should never forget that every day thousands of people owe their lives to the skill and innovation of doctors and nurses and their expertise is delivered free to those in need.
