Editor's Viewpoint: Writing books is child's play for popular Lisburn author
Everyone wants to do a job they love, which not only provides them with great satisfaction but also the income to lead a comfortable life.
Lisburn author Sam McBratney, who took the plunge to retire from teaching at age 50 to concentrate on his writing, has found that nirvana.
And it was a children's picture book of around 400 words which brought him to that happy state. Written fairly early in his new career, it has since become one of the world's favourite bedtime stories, selling 30m copies and being translated into 53 languages.
How wonderful to know that something created from his imagination can bring so much pleasure to so many people.
