Ending a glorious era could come back to haunt Blues

Editor's Viewpoint

David Jeffrey is more than just one of the most successful managers in the history of Linfield Football Club, winning a record-equalling 31 trophies during his 17 years in charge. He is a Blueman by conviction as well as occupation, having supported, played for and captained the club as well as being its manager.

He is also a larger than life character and all sport needs people like him to form a bridge between participants and fans. While his career at Windsor Park is over after tomorrow's game, David is keen to remain in football and he certainly has a lot to offer any club which would want his services. If the rumours that he was virtually forced out of Windsor are true, one day the club may rue making him available to opponents.
