Yesterday was a date that sisters Saoirse and Niamh Costello from near Magilligan will never forget. It was the first day they were able to see each other's baby in the flesh, even if it was outdoors and six feet apart.

For both had given birth during lockdown and its accompanying rules barring different households from meeting.

Every mum wants to show off their new baby to their family and friends but that was not feasible until yesterday when the relaxation of the lockdown rules came into force. Every relative also wants to hug new arrivals but that will have to wait for more baby steps to be taken towards normality.
