Fight against cancer put in picture by selfie campaign
We often hear the negative side of social media – the taunting and tormenting emanating from the trolls who inhabit cyberspace.
But it can also be a powerful tool for positive action as witnessed by the current craze for women to post selfies wearing no make-up to raise money for cancer research.
The Cancer Research UK charity received £1m in one day from this initiative and today you can read why four local women decided to take part.
It is a fun way of helping a great cause and those who have taken part – including some men who have posted photographs of themselves wearing make-up – deserve credit and support in the fight against an indiscriminate and widespread disease.
