Generous province rallies to help John's mother in Nepal

Editor's Viewpoint

Northern Ireland people, including Fifty Shades Of Grey Star, Jamie Dornan, have taken Bangor man John Hodge to their hearts. Moved by his story of how he found his long-lost mother after 30 years of her living in abject poverty in Nepal, they contributed in their droves to almost raise the £7,000 he needed to build her a new home.

But, as we report, the recent earthquake in that country has driven up building costs and he now needs £8,500 for his project. We are certain that the ever generous public will continue to rally around and raise the extra funds to put a roof over the head of a woman who has seen enough heartbreak in her life.
