Golden girl Bethany is a role model in and out of the pool
Co Down's Bethany Firth is an inspirational young woman who returns from the Rio Paralmpics with three gold medals and a silver one from her exploits in the pool. She already had a gold from the London Paralympics four years ago. But it is not just her winning ways in swimming which mark her out, but her utter determination to be the very best she can irrespective of what that achieves.
This is a girl who, until the age of 12, was afraid to go into the water, never mind beat the world. Away from sport she is deeply rooted in her faith and also works hard to be a role model for her peers. Our golden girl is certainly someone to look up to.
