A stilt-walking 70-year-old and a lady of nearly 80 who practices her juggling skills are just two of the people who benefit from circus lessons for older people in Belfast.

The weekly circus workshops, aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of older people, are now rolling out to other parts of Northern Ireland with the help of an imaginative £200,000 National Lottery grant.

Certainly, anything which promotes wellbeing for older people is to be welcomed.

There was time when older people looked back with some envy on the antics of the young, but it is now the older generation who are having the time of their lives.
