Hillsborough host showed NI at its hospitable best
David Anderson was the welcoming face of Northern Ireland for everyone from royalty to commoners. As mine host at Hillsborough Castle he was the man in charge of ensuring that royal guests, diplomats, politicians and even the Dalai Lama were treated regally and shown proper Ulster hospitality.
He performed his role with discretion as well as a high degree of professionalism, at the same time winning the friendship of so many of his guests. The big turnout at a celebration of his life in the Europa Hotel yesterday was a tribute to the esteem in which he was held. It was an event he would have loved, enjoying himself with good friends.
