Hospice a worthy cause for Roy's European adventure
Only those who have seen the work of a hospice at first hand can fully appreciate the holistic approach that staff take to their duties. It is not just the patients but also their families who are eased through the most traumatic events of their lives.
Roy Lucas, whose father died in the hospice in May, gives a powerful tribute to the work of the NI Hospice in our paper today. The staff made such an impression on him that he and a friend are now to visit hospices in 16 countries around Europe to publicise their work and to raise funds for the Belfast facility. The pair are literally going the extra mile to give something back to a wonderful, caring institution.
