In Christ Alone - hope for hymn book
Attempts to change the lyrics of a much-loved hymn, In Christ Alone, has got Presbyterians up in arms. The American editors of a new Presbyterian hymn book wanted references in the hymn to the wrath of God being satisfied changed and when the composers, including former Lisburn man Keith Getty refused, the song was dropped from the new edition.
Surely, Presbyterians still like comment on God's anger as a reminder that He can be vengeful as well as merciful.
Hopefully, the Presbyterian hymn book hasn't succumbed to political correctness.
