Kidnap victim Keenan gives prisoners hope for future

Editor's Viewpoint

And prisoners in Magilligan jail may concede they have a point after listening to former Beirut kidnap victim Brian Keenan outline what he went through in four and a half years, often in solitary confinement, being chained, beaten and interrogated and with no outside world contact before being released.

But such is the resilience of the human spirit he was able to rebuild his life and he told the prisoners they too can follow his example and become free in mind as well as body.
