Let's all hope that pet shop thieves end up doing bird
The thieves who stole a host of exotic animals, including expensive birds, from a Ballymena pet shop are obviously hoping to gain financially from their crime, but it seems more likely that they will simply cause hardship to the pets. Whatever the motivation, it is a cruel crime as well as a serious blow to the shop owners, who also had money stolen from the till.
They are particularly worried about the fate of their prize African grey parrot Barney, which they have had for 10 years. Anyone with information about this crime or who is offered any of the animals should contact police and ensure that the thieves end up doing bird instead of selling it.
