Library would be perfect home for Troubles relics

Editor's Viewpoint

As time passes, the memorabilia from the Troubles will gain increasing importance to help future generations understand why such violence broke out and continued, and also help them to view such developments in a proper historical context.

Peter Moloney, who has amassed a huge private collection, is offering his unique archive on this subject to someone who can give it "a good home".

He wants to give it to a suitable institution which would make it open to public view.

There are a number of potential contenders, all of whom would no doubt take care of such valuable material.

Including not least our own Linen Hall Library which already has an important archive of similar material.
