An article in today's paper about Menarys, the well-known department stores, shows how resilience and business acumen pays off.

The company was started in 1923, and it has survived a World War, the Troubles, and the commercial challenges and ups and downs of each year.

The managing director, Stephen McCammon, underlines the loyalty and dedication of a long-standing family business and its staff, and the fact that Menarys has opened three new stores in the past year bodes well for the future.

In such extremely difficult times for the high street, such impressive retail progress like that of Menarys is worth celebrating.
