Minister's faith is the one constant in his 100 years
The Rev Eric Borland, who is celebrating his 100th birthday, has certainly seen some monumental changes in his life. Born during the First World War, he became a Presbyterian Minister as British troops were being evacuated from Dunkirk during World War II, and served in Belfast during the Blitz.
He married his wife Muriel shortly after the war ended and the couple's astonishing 69 years of marriage have taken in such world changing events as the space race, the fall of Communism and the development of modern technology.
But to Eric it is the eternal Word of God that he still finds the most amazing thing of all.
