Misery of hay fever

Spare a thought for those who suffer the annual problem of streaming eyes, coughs and other symptoms of hay fever. The next few weeks will be hell for them, according to scientists, who say that the pollen count could remain very high until August.

Hay fever is an allergic reaction we commonly associate with long, balmy summer days. Chance would be a fine thing if the traditional Northern Ireland summer is anything to go by. Suffers have to endure the double blow of an allergy and the poor weather. That's a real damper on the holiday season.
