More awareness of eating disorders Laurence's legacy
Eating disorder seems like an innocent enough phrase, certainly not a condition that could kill you. But it can be deadly if not treated.
As our feature today on Laurence Nugent shows, it does not just affect women worried about their appearance, but also men. What they have in common is the desire to keep their condition hidden, and Laurence did that for six years.
The perceived stigma attached to the condition often prevents sufferers opening up about their condition and seeking help at an earlier stage. Laurence's family have formed a charity to raise awareness and also break that taboo. If they succeed it will be a worthwhile legacy to a tragic event.
