MPs bridge gap for Reds legend

Editor's Viewpoint

GEORGE Galloway and Jim Shannon are unlikely allies, but they have joined forces to remember Bill Shankly, the legendary Liverpool football manager who was born 100 years ago.

Galloway tabled a Commons motion that recalls Shankly was "one of nine children, five of whom became professional footballers".

The motion, which the DUP man supports, also notes he was a socialist and "the first song he learnt was Red Flag".
