No humour in public toilet survey for people of Lisburn
The people of Lisburn will not be best-pleased to discover that their city's public toilets have been voted the worst in the UK.
There is much smut associated with toilets. People tend to snigger, and there is great play on toilet humour, but decent toilet facilities are one of the marks of a civilised society.
Sadly, there is nothing funny about coming last on such a list. Many people depend on such facilities, including mothers with young children, people with medical conditions and the elderly. Lisburn literally needs to clean up its act. What would Sir Charles Lanyon, that champion of progress so long ago, think of such a modern mess?
