No room at inn? Put it down to popularity of weddings
Ever wonder why it is difficult to book a hotel room in Northern Ireland in the last months of summer?
The answer, it seems, is because they are already full of people celebrating weddings.
August was the month when love was really in the air last year, with the greatest number of nuptials taking place then.
August 6 was the most popular day. The previous year it was September 5.
Marriage is still popular, with 8,306 couples tying the knot last year in the province.
But both grooms and brides are taking longer to make up their minds, with the average age of couples six years older than their predecessors of 30 years ago.
