O'Neill's heroes can go out and make history yet again

Editor's Viewpoint

The Northern Ireland football team can take a giant step towards the World Cup finals when they play Switzerland in the first of two play-off matches tonight.

Victory will not be easy, but such has been the level of commitment from the players they will approach the game in a positive frame of mind.

Windsor Park has been something of a fortress in recent times and the support of the crowd will be invaluable as Michael O'Neill's men aim to create even more history following their heroics at Euro 2016 in France last summer.

It is more than three decades since the Green and White Army were at a World Cup.

It's time they were back.
