Our Mediterranean weather a most welcome talking point
One of the favourite topics of conversation in Northern Ireland is the weather. Whether it is good, bad or indifferent, people will mention it at the slightest opportunity.
Sometimes the weather really does make major headlines, as in the big freeze-up at Christmas several years ago, but picturesque Murlough Bay in Co Antrim made its own headlines at the weekend, with a balmy and unforgettable 17.5C.
This was warmer than some parts of the Mediterranean, and let's hope it is a sign of better things to come for us.
However, one point is certain - whatever weather we get, people will talk about it.
