Outpouring of support is a comfort to William Dunlop's family
Motorcycle racing is a dangerous sport and when tragedy strikes, as in the recent case of William Dunlop, killed during practice for a race outside Dublin, the racing fraternity both at home and abroad rally around to support those bereaved.
That is acknowledged today by William's mother Louise, who has publicly thanked all those who supported the family after the accident.
She was also keen to thank her friends and neighbours who displayed the typical Northern Ireland goodwill at a time of difficulty.
You really know who your friends are in the hardest of times.
