Paisley struck a chord with revelations about father's death
The recent House of Commons debate on the sensitive topic of assisted dying produced some compelling contributions from both sides.
Ian Paisley's contribution was all the more impressive, given the intensely personal nature of its content. He revealed that his father, Dr Ian Paisley, had lived on for more than a year after medical staff had asked the family to prepare for his death.
Ian Paisley is no stranger to speaking in the House, but this was an address which he delivered particularly well.
Much of what Mr Paisley said will have struck a chord with many people back home in Northern Ireland, and he is to be commended for sharing his thoughts so publicly in this way.
