Paramedic hero Glenn fully deserves prestigious award
Paramedics do a job that few of us would relish. They bring care to people in dire circumstances and are often the difference between life and death for those people. Astonishingly, we occasionally hear or read of paramedics who come under attack from mindless thugs when trying to treat desperately ill people.
One of those medical heroes is Bangor man Glenn O'Rorke who works with the NI Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance project, building up an expert team and raising the standard of care for serious trauma patients. He has been awarded the title of UK Paramedic of the Year, but like his colleagues, his real reward is saving countless lives.
