Passing exams not always key to a successful future
As A-level results are published today, there will be thousands of students who will either feel they have achieved their desired results or who have fallen short.
But as the stories in this newspaper today demonstrate, while examinations are important, they are not necessarily the only signposts to a successful career or life.
In some cases poorer-than-expected results can make the recipient more determined to make their way in life, giving them the drive to go on and succeed.
Sometimes it is the road least considered that turns out to be the best route to take for a fulfilled life.
