Demolition work begins on the King’s Hall Conference Centre

The King's Hall at Balmoral has been one of the great landmarks of life in Northern Ireland, but in a period of rapid change, it has been disappearing before our very eyes.

It is being razed to the ground to make way for redevelopment, but nothing can erase our warm memories of this great old hall, so much a part of people's lives here since 1934

A Northern Ireland BBC television programme broadcast tonight will help to jog more than a few memories, but many people will have recollections of their own.

Time marches on, but the fond personal and collective memories will remain for a lifetime.
