Poetic journey ends

Editor's Viewpoint

It is fitting that the Nobel Laureate poet Seamus Heaney has been buried at Bellaghy, where he spent some of his most formative years.

He was a remarkable man who enriched the world with unique observations about his journey in life and who shared these thoughts with the rest of us in such poetic language.

He was courteous, unassuming and down-to-earth in the best sense of that term, and now that his earthly journey has ended, it is symbolic and right that he will rest in the quiet earth, close to his own folk.
