Critics have cried foul over the Disney adaptation of Eoin Colfer's book series Artemis Fowl, directed by Belfast's own Sir Kenneth Branagh. Variety claimed that the movie, part-filmed here, was "downright awful".

The New York Times stated that it "projects absolutely nothing beyond a desire to kick-start a new hotshot franchise".

Whether Artemis Fowl is a turkey or not, Sir Kenneth is still one of our brightest stars of stage and screen.

Who can forget the then 22-year-old's performance in Graham Reid's Too Late To Talk To Billy alongside James Ellis and Brid Brennan. It was simply magisterial.
