Radio Ulster's new star has what it takes to be a big hit
Stephen Clements, Radio Ulster's new mid-morning star, will never be Sean Coyle, the man he controversially replaced. Both have their own distinctive broadcasting styles and probably appeal to different audience demographics. There was an outcry when Sean's show was axed - although he has since been given another slot on Radio Foyle - but no blame should be attached to Stephen.
He was headhunted by the BBC and offered the gig. The BBC handled the matter in a cack-handed manner but both men will now be able to entertain their listeners. Broadcasters come and go and listeners sometimes get annoyed but, hey, that's showbusiness.
