After more than three months of unrestrained growth it was a case of hair today and gone tomorrow as barbers and hairdressers opened again for business. This will be a relief for so many middle aged men who hadn't had a fringe since their teenage years until coronavirus struck and then spent the last 10 weeks sweeping their comb overs out of their eyes.

And ladies will once again be coiffured to within an inch of their lives as they get home colouring efforts repaired and straggling locks snipped into shape. Nothing will signify a return to normality more than a good haircut as the Wurzel Gummidge look is consigned to history.
