Re-opening of Zara spells good news for city centre
The re-opening of clothing retailer Zara is a further welcome development in restoring Belfast city centre as a prime shopping destination.
The Spanish company has been shut for seven months because of its proximity to the burned-out Primark store but a queue of grateful shoppers were at its doors yesterday when they opened. The Primark blaze was a huge blow to the city centre with 14 other businesses forced to close because of safety fears. Food retailer Tesco is also expected to re-open its Royal Avenue store at the end of this month, which will be another encouragement for increased footfall and bringing new life back to the city centre.
