Rising prices... but people still want a haircut and pint

Editor's Viewpoint

As hairdressers, hotels, cafes and pubs open their doors next month, there are warnings that prices will not be locked down at pre-pandemic levels. Everything from the humble pint to a haircut will be more expensive as owners try to recoup lost revenue and cope with fewer customers.

The unkindest cut of all for the public may be in the hairdressers. One customer said they had been quoted £186 for an appointment, enough to make anyone's hair turn grey.

But ultimately no matter what the price of a pint or a haircut, there will be customers desperate for a professional styling or a drink in their favourite local.
