Smitten earl proves love can bring anyone to their knees

He may have been born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth, but as John Crichton, the 7th Earl of Erne can testify, love can have the same impact on aristocrats as on more humble folk. Having got engaged to his girlfriend of five years, Harriet Patterson, it is obvious that he is a man for whom marriage cannot come soon enough.

He even went through the traditional rites of proposing - asking her parents for her hand in marriage and going down on bended knee at his magnificent Crom Estate to ask Harriet to be his bride.

He may have welcomed royalty and celebrities into his home, but Harriet will be its most welcome resident.
