Taking the Easter out of egg is truly cracked PC thinking

Editor's Viewpoint

The dropping of the word Easter from the Great British Egg Hunt title smacks of political correctness taken to the extreme. That the event, which includes 13 hunts in Northern Ireland, is promoted by the National Trust and Cadbury makes it all the more nonsensical. The Trust protects heritage, and Easter has been around and celebrated for longer than any of its great houses. Cadbury, of course, makes Easter eggs.

Easter eggs are not a religious symbol, and no faith, even in these multicultural and secular times, should feel offended or threatened by the mere mention of the confection. Wonder if the Easter bunny is now feeling nervous?
